Someone explain locktime to me (bitcoin on-chain transaction) everything I see online says it’ll be the block the transaction can be mined at. However I’m seeing 9 digit numbers and obviously these transactions aren’t going to be waiting that long. Someone else said it’s unix time however I don’t think that makes sense either? #asknostr

Can we use this tx as an example if someone does reply! 5911235ae98e1fee09ea2f180cfb470267f55ee10f3ec7a0e53c4c5ab3b9c9fc

Apparently, with a lock time of 542,824,020, your transaction was "locked" until some time in Sunday, 15 March 1987

It was never truly locked. Maybe someone was testing, or maybe someone is using that field in a non standard way.

The lock time comparison table at the bottom makes no sense. Since when did 0xede80600 = 452845 in decimal ????

This is what was confusing me🤣🤣🤣appreciate you though!
