This is all correct except that we got married in 2019. Our kid was born in 2016.
Aight. My turn. 2016 I married nostr:npub1r8u6lw8c2h67s66magtqu78vtpckfzcsmmdsg06gqm723njsunfs8kfjwl
Venue: $1,200 (tables, chairs, tablecloths included)
Rings: $35ish. It was a 1963 silver quarter and 1oz silver round I hammered into ring shapes and drilled out until they fit. No stones, just metal bands.
Wedding dress: $20 at Ross (her shoes were more expensive)
Caterers: friends of mine who worked for free and cooked $150 worth of ingredients into enough jambalaya to feed an army. Another $350ish on meat and cheese trays, snacks, soft drinks, plates etc.
Cake: $80 from Sam's club (basically cosco)
Booze: $400 also from Sam's club served by a licensed ABO card holding bartender friend of ours who worked for tips.
Decorations were plants my wife was already growing at our house.
DJ and Photographer were friends who agreed to do it as a wedding present.
All in we were under $5k for EVERYSINGLETHING which left us some spending money (and lots of leftover booze) for the honeymoon.
