If you want privacy (yes! don't use monero!) you should coin join or use an unannounced lightning channel.

Cash is great privacy for local transactions, but...

-You can't instantly send cash to anyone on the planet.

-You can't easily hide or transport large amounts and it's vulnerable to confiscation.

-It's value is also vulnerable to arbitrary and unpredictable inflation.
