Today I tried a new product by nostr:npub12u7xgzak939jlap3fnev05eky6d4ntwr4lrs03kgnnfd9njmtvrsr9jjmt which allows you to create your own ecash mint powered by a nostr:npub19hg5pj5qmd3teumh6ld7drfz49d65sw3n3d5jud8sgz27avkq5dqm7yv9p NWC connection. I made a mint connected to my self-custodial Alby Hub wallet in a few seconds and then connected it to boardwalkcash.com with a new nostr+mintconnect (NMC?) connection. My head is exploding right now 🤯

Whoa

Exactly what I need! 🔥🔥🔥

what is ecash for? when we have satoshis etc. I don't understand why we have it.

anyone explain this simply?

asynchronous payments

lightning is synchronous

you can't send to someone's LN address unless there is a server answering there

ecash lets you send a payment like lightning except that it's less anonymous (to the mint) without the recipient being online

mutiny, and some other projects are using this as a bridge to cope with intermittent connectivity for non-custodial lightning payments

Yeah, THIS. Its not about privacy improvements, IMO. Its about 1) sending money directly to someone, instead of asking for an invoice, 2) not having to deal with lightning channel liquidity management, and 3)assuming people are using the same mint , no more "can't find path" LN payment failures to deal with.

Plus, ecash can be minted that is linked to someone's npub, and that is really powerful too.

yeah, it's just less anonymous than lightning or bitcoin, and i feel it's important to point that out, the mint knows who makes tokens and who spends them by their IP address

thanks nostr:nprofile1qqsyeqqz27jc32pgf8gynqtu90d2mxztykj94k0kmttxu37nk3lrktcpz9mhxue69uhkummnw3ezumrpdejz7qg3waehxw309ahx7um5wgh8w6twv5hsz9thwden5te0wfjkccte9ejxzmt4wvhxjme0swcf2c

Thanks for all your feedback! We're still looking for more testers. DM me if you also want to try it out!
