Well done. 🫡

Much appreciated. Knew I had an “in” given that they wanted to talk about all the TikTok “refugees” flocking to the new shinny social media object - aka RedNote (小红书).
Red Note sounds like Death Note but by the commies.
It's the algorithm pulling them in isn't it?
I also don't believe in the numbers of new users they claim to have
Maybe, but there’s no question that it has been an amazing cultural exchange this week between average Americans and Chinese. For me, it has been just been lovely to watch unfold.
That said, I’m the first to agree with just about every critique leveled against #China. What is also the case though is that all of those critiques are woefully incomplete. China ain’t no “Evil Empire 2.0”.
As for the numbers, the only thing I can say is that the RedNote feeds are now overwhelmed by American users. That’s been shocking to watch.
Sounds interesting indeed, i'm baffled that the chinese are even allowed to engage and see content outside of china.
Let's hope the americans can give them some perspective and good hope that the chinese might be free too one day.
Well, I’m doubtful this commingling between Chinese and Americans on RedNote will last much longer. #China is expected to aggressively geo-lock access in the coming days.
Still, what you see this week is a genuine outpouring of mutual interest and engagement and at a degree I’ve NEVER witnessed in all my years living in China.
