Does anyone know how to move on-chain balance funds in nostr:npub1getal6ykt05fsz5nqu4uld09nfj3y3qxmv8crys4aeut53unfvlqr80nfm hub over into your spending balance? I’ve got a channel already, but the guides on the support page have one key video showing as “no longer available” that I think has the answer. All I wanted to do was move some on chain corn from cold storage to my Alby Lightning wallet. I ended up having to send the on chain bitcoin on my hub to another wallet I have that can handle both on chain and Lightning, then send it via Lightning to my Alby wallet. It was a pain in the rear. Any advice would be appreciated. I can’t find anything in Alby’s documentation. Thanks !

From my recollection, I know you can pay for a new channel with onchain (it’s fine print / text url as payment option when opening a channel)

Not sure if you can do it directly or only as part of funding a channel

It looks like all I can do is fund a new channel with onchain balance. The support page keeps just suggesting I have to use a swap service like Boltz or SimpleSwap

LND does not conform to spec. Everybody should stop using it.

Hey, there are two ways to 'convert' your onchain sats to lightning sats:

either 'directly' you open a channel with these funds, or 'indirectly' (but maybe more convenient and often cheaper) - using swap service, ie. exchanging these sats with someone else.

With new release of Alby Hub, v.1.14 coming this week, we will integrate swaps within our interface, so you don't have to go to Boltz etc. 😉

That’s great news. One step closer to an orange world 🤙🏽

I'm going to do some research, but I don't think that's possible. The only way would be if they support splicing but I've not seen that option available on my Alby hub. The only other way would be to open a new channel.

I'll get back to you though.

Ok nostr:nprofile1qqsp2wk4p9awff35r50lmx2rltvjc059dx5vg0n9aq9jq8dg9rez9aspunjvm I did my quick research... Splicing is NOT available on LND nodes as of yet... Only with CLN and eclair. With this being the case and the majority of lightning nodes being LND for the individual user, I'm guessing Alby hub hadn't implemented it because it isn't available across the board.

Splicing is also relatively new and the bugs haven't been fully worked out yet. Are you running the hub yourself? If you're running it off of CLN or eclair you can use "ride the lightning" or the node directly to splice... But it won't be through the alby interface.

I bet you, if you give it a year or so it'll catch up.

I’m just using the hosted node service. Thanks for looking into this. I searched for an hour and couldn’t find a seamless way to transfer onchain funds from another location to my Alby hub spending balance.
