Been looking around Nostr's giant network of apps today, and I've found it really cool. Still a little confused with a couple things, though. Question for Nostr users: How do I get a unique username? is that possible? And what should I be sharing with friends so that they can find me?

While you can't have a unique name, per say, you can verify yourself via a domain you control.

I forget what exactly it is though.

You don't necessarily need to do this though a domain you control. There are a variety of services that offer NIP-05 addresses.

They are less useful for verifying identity than they are for giving friends a human readable way to look you up without using your npub.

Check out njump.me

until you set up a nip05 webfinger verifier you gotta share your long npub for folks to find you. my website miguelalmodo.com has a .well-known folder at its root with a web finger that points to my unique username miggymofongo, so people can find me by searchin miggymofongo@miguelalmodo.com
