Regular person: "Well I guess I'm right wing now!! I agree with everything he was singing and I think the song is cool! 😀"

Rolling Stone: "Noooooooo!!!"

At least free promotion for the dude. I hope he gets on nostr 🤞🏻

Saw that, but it ain’t confirmed

I'm hoping it is

intentional, creates way more outrage and traffic this way

He definitely does have an appeal to a certain community because of the music genre and lyrics.

That being said, it’s a really good song and isn’t inflammatory in the same way as other southern music is.

Rolling stone etc etc just need headlines to get their ad revenue.

He sounded Appalachian to me. Is Southern music inflammatory?

Ahh, that’s a fair point. I don’t know where he’s from. I suppose it was a generalization.

Again, it was a touch of a generalization. He writes on topics that a lot of a right-wing audience would identify with, but with a much less vindictive, politically dividing tone.

Think the comparison of Jason Aldeans small town song vs this song. Undertones of dog whistles and topics that unify a very specific group, vs a song that speaks on topics like wealth gaps, mental health and economics in a frank but not divisive manner.

Not all southern music or country music is inflammatory, but songs that talk about politics can quickly become that - this didn’t. Really enjoyed the sound and feel of it.

I'm try Jason Aldean and see what I think. I'm not much of a music person generally.

I listened. It sounds so tame, polite and friendly compared to the average city hip hop hit.
