It's time for the #bitcoin plebs to give #cashu a try. It's MUCH easier than you think and MUCH more powerful.
Here's an outstanding cashu wallet (Android)
Download it and deposit some lightning sats into it to start.

0xChat has a ecash wallet integrated into it, really cool worth checking out their approach.
The problem I'm facing with it is that it won't update (through Obtainium) so I can't give the new wallet a try.
Just downloaded it and started taking a look - I like the idea of being able to create your own mint with this protocol and having your own small circle of friends able to transact amongst eachother completely privately - wallet looks cool and already grabbed a personalised ecash address 🤙🥳
I love its integration with nostr where you can use it to automatically receive zaps.
How does that work? Would you not need to replace your current wallet address with the ecash one?
Just sent myself a few sats from what I had left in WoS to test, it took longer than I expected, but I guess the mint operation takes a few moments - so now I've got that, I can give that to anyone and there's no record?
If you send it to a lightning address, you will incur a tiny fee, but free if you send it to another cashu address.
If you send it to another cashu address of a different mint, these cashus will get destroyed by the receiving mint and then reissued as new and forwarded to the receiving address.
Between mints and users and between mints themselves, it's totally private. When sending to lightning, I'm not too sure.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
