Maybe it’s why I’m still working at a small indie label after all this time…

I have friends that are pretty successful in the industry, you would know of them, who are very clean living Christians. I’ve been on the road with them over the course of two tours mixing them front of house, bus tours so close living for extended periods. Not a single goat was sacrificed in that time but they would regularly pray before going on stage…

A lot of artists do use satanic imagery as a marketing tool for sure though, mostly because they’ll be some people who freak out, generating a ton of noise that ultimately makes the labels more money.

And yes, there are some very evil, exploitative people in the industry, mostly execs and those with power. P Diddler in jail but not the CEO of Sony?! I find that a little suspect…

However, I don’t buy into the reverse records stuff… I’ve heard a loads of backward audio over the years. An ex colleague worked at Headley Grange (where Stairway to Heaven was recorded) and he never mentioned it (some very big credits to his name) but he never mentioned it. I’ve yet to meet anyone who works with audio buy into the theory of these records playing backwards.

However, I wouldn’t be surprised if Marilyn Manson or Trent Reznor did that kind of thing but for marketing/trolling purposes.

It's not ridiculous at all. You will do what the record label tells you to do, but in fact most band members won't care because of their age.

Many of the artists are young when they get famous. They do not care what the record producers do. As long as they get paid and play music that's all the care about.

Do you think a band member will care about a symbol here, another symbol there on their album? They won't care.

What do you think will happen if someone does make a fuss about a symbol. They signed the record contract and can't do nothing about it.

The band didn't even have any satanic symbolism before they got famous. It started after they signed on into the music industry. That's how it always happens.
