In your example there's no need for the phone call. So by this person telling me to send the points I made in an email, he's saying he can't regurgitate information he's just been told. This employee is worthless and should be fired immediately in order to prevent further wastes of time.

Why did we have he phone call? Just so he could hear the sound of my voice one last time before asking me to type it out?

Incompetence is filling the workplace.
