Pre-diabetes is severe glucose intolerance.

Type 2 Diabetes is Glucose toxicity.

It feels like everybody has pre-diabetes (re dubbed insulin resistance) these days.

They do. 93% of North Americans are insulin resistant!

What IS the solution? I'm not diabetic myself but I have many family members that are.

Reduce carbohydrate consumption. Replace with fatty meat. Type 2 can reverse within a few weeks on a carnivore diet..😉

Low-carb or Keto, or Ketovore or Carnivore.

All will reverse T2D & pre-Diabetes.

fasting is the key, but i've not yet cracked how to fit it into my life

i know it is the key because i did manage to go 4 days without eating, and i started to go into ketosis for the first time and it was quite alarming at first, but what is it?

so, i think you can take a slower path towards it by steadily increasing your fats, and when i say fats, i mean focus on tallow and cacao butter and coconut oil

it's hard because these days it's all seed oils, but only coconut, cacao, avocado and olive are good seed oils, and they basically are, and the common feature of all of them is they are soft enough to press under 50`C

the other thing you have to do is start fasting

i had such a good experience from finally passing the 3 day mark two months ago that i want to arrange my life so i can do this again... still don't have a plan, there is an aspect of the "just gotta do it" to this, but the duties of the quotidian regime make it harder... much easier to succeed if you literally can just lay down and read a fun book the whole time, and i think maybe part of it is i want to soak in a hot bath at least once a day and haven't been able to do that in a year now

The problem with fasting is that some diabetics have hypoglycemia. I'm not hypoglycemic myself but I struggle to fast more than a single meal in a day, and even that is stretching it on some days. It's weird, some days I can go a long time without eating but then other days, I struggle even if my meals are delayed.

That's my issue with a lot of diets, I've tried a few but can't seem to stick with them (and not just because I disliked it).

Also I have early stage t2... That's why it was alarming, especially the ketones, but it reset something and I've been definitely better since, lost weight, better sleep, better mood... Still having trouble, but better.

And definitely the solution is not to eat carbs “even if you are obese, even if you are diabetic”.
