Hey guys! Did you ever experience losing some of your DMs on Nostr?

I mean full on conversations being deleted.

I thought Nostr was censorship resistant.

Something something regarding relays

primal.net has so far been the best for me pulling data regarding the DMs

It’s censorship resistant but it’s up to you (or better yet, your clients) to make sure you have enough data redundancy

Not sure how to do that but I lost a few. Can somebody from the backend delete them?

A relay admin can delete the anything from their own instance.

If you know the npub you lost a message history with it should be fairly trivial to check a bunch of relays to see which has a copy

None of mine have deleted or can be deleted. Perhaps it depends on the client you’re using?

When upgrading apps sometimes it seems like I have to re-tap/look at conversations to make the notification go away.

I noticed a few times whole days or strings would be gone and the notification wouldn't go away.

But usually quitting the app or restarting my phone bright it all back🤷🏽

Change relays? Could be relay related. Never lost a DM, but would recommend using caution using DM for personal conversation.

Hmm not sure until I try but I believe so. I’ll look into it and try to find a solution though.
