My example was extreme as proof of point since you weren’t getting it. The long term but lower intensity hardship of “just being poor” or “just being from shit country” should, in theory, make these people more wise if hardship=wisdom.

But your last line here proves why that doesn’t correlate statistically: “everyone handles hardship differently”. And it is only those who do so via self-reflection that gain wisdom. Hardship is a powerful MOTIVATOR for this, but it cannot and will not MAKE anyone do this, no matter how severe or long term said hardship is. That is my point.
