I did this for my NextDoor group. Since that is the case common is a relative term, these are likely NOT the 5 most common snakes in your area. But this is really info rich and if you are interested in snakes or are afraid of them it may be beneficial to read.

Also feel free to ask me ANYTHING about snakes. I have dedicated a lot of my live to working with them, learning about them, etc. They are one of my true passions.

My father and Grandfather kept snakes as pets. When I was about 6 or 7 my father insisted that I pick up a garter snake so that I would learn that it wouldn't hurt me that bad (#80sParenting) . Forty+ years later me when I see a snake in the yard...
