Someone is going to get killed by a military crackdown on civilian protesters. Just wait and see.

I hope its the retard protestors

I see “mostly peaceful” is back.

Can’t tell if you’re concerned that military might kill somebody and that would mean they should not have been sent to stem these violent insurrectionists? Or am I reading it wrong?

Sending in troops to police people exercising their right to assemble and protest is about as un-American as it gets. Reminds me of what happened at Kent State in 1970.

Right to assemble and protest is doing a lot of work here.

I guess you haven’t seen the “mostly peaceful” parts of the videos.

You do not have the right to violently protest. You’re not making a serious argument. You’re setting up Trump to take the fall for the violent insurrectionists.

All of the violence I’ve seen appears to have been started and provoked by the feds. I can’t keep track of MAGA opinions anymore, are state agents the good guys again?

Liberals violently protest but “they started it”

Sounds mature. And very believable.

If your pathway to a "good" society requires squads of masked, armed men without identifying uniforms breaking into workplaces, homes and schools to drag out peaceful people (including women and children) who are just trying to live their lives peacefully....

Maybe time to rethink your priors.

Are they not there illegally though?

Oohh illegal

You reporting each and every Zap on Nostr on your taxes?

I wouldn't be surprised if they can knocking, tell you that much.

The protestors are there legally.

Are they tearing the place apart or just sitting around Kumbaya?

Why so heavy handed?

Must've done something no?

Blaming victims is so back.

Just asking questions man.

Guess you’ve never seen Philly after the Eagles won the Super Bowl. They don’t send in the military.

Whataboutism doesn't make this a peaceful protest.

The only thing the military being there indicates to me is that local law enforcement can't/wont deal with it.

What's the alternative? Let them tear L.A apart?

These clearly aren't victims, it's as plain as day from the countless videos out there at this point.

Not true, the city and state didn’t request or require the National Guard. They were sent as a show of force to intimidate people after immigration raids targeted specific communities. This is not a war zone.

They also took orders from a fake chain of command because there is no real chain of command (their official "leader" is too much of a pussy to discipline them for defying his orders in favor of someone else)

So the countless videos of wanton destruction is evidence of everything being under control?

Cmon man.

You're taking an idealogical stance, I get that, but it's just not lining up with the facts here.

You live over 5000 miles away and obviously don’t have all the context. The federal government sent in armed agents to find and arrest people who were not posing a threat to anyone. LA is a city of Latin American immigrants, so obviously this action was intended to cause disobedience.

It’s easy to only see one side if that’s what you’re being shown. Here’s a video of an Australian reporter being hit by a rubber bullet shot by a LAPD officer firing into a crowd. How might this situation have played out if it had been a Marine with live ammunition?

It's possible I'm missing context, I'm only going off of what I have at hand.

This clip only strengthens my point about local law enforcement handling it poorly.

That’s not an excuse to escalate with the military, unless the goal is for the military to restrain the cops, which is obviously not what would happen.

“Protests continue”

Imagine the leftist headline if 2A activists did *the exact same thing*

Incidentally, the first time in modern history that I’m aware of where the government came for citizens’ legal right to bear arms was the Mulford Act of 1967 when Ronald Reagan, then governor of California banned the Black Panthers from carrying loaded guns.
