I dedicate a whole bed to them. They like moist soil and can tolerate fairly wet soil, I live in a temperate rain forest. They are delicious, you can use them in all recipes that require onions, but leeks are sweet and impart a more subtle “herby” flavor. They also freeze well. I usually freeze them and eat them until fall onions are ready. They hardy to about 10 to 15 degrees.
