Running a node is not that complicated. It’s like running a web server. If a company can setup a webserver they can setup a node. Just hire a few IT people. Nice thing is that you can do accounting directly out of your node.

Occasionally consolidate to cold store if you’re worried about the node going down or something if thats the risk.

I suspect in the future there will be jobs specifically for this. It would be like an IT/accounting job. This is kinda what i’ve been doing at all the previous companies i’ve worked for. Bitcoin accounting or bitcoin IT

This was my startup before working on damus. Just run a lightning node on prem and get tons of accounting and merchant tools without installing lots of software. It was just a client for core lightning. Wish i could get back to that one day

Lol i do have a cool demo somewhere. Basically if you had a cln lightning node with a public ip, you could connect directly to it over lightning without any web servers or vpns. I did a talk about the tech a few years ago https://youtu.be/76KWXa-6s30
