Yeah we’ve had that forever but it doesn’t do nearly as good a job at communicating the state and stats of the network.
Engagement is what really matters but size of the network is used by people to judge if they should invest their time in this vs other options.
Farcaster is "sufficiently decentralized" but I think what that means is it's not and it's decentralization theatre.
It relies on global state and a name service whose decentralization is quite questionable, like you will only know by getting rugged when the backing company goes bankrupt.
In that way farcaster is similar to bluesky. Ambitions to be decentralized but controlled by a company.
