“The United States has been a socialist country LARPing as a capitalist republic for many decades now. You can't have a truly capitalist society if the lifeblood of your economy is centrally planned. And our money is more centrally planned than any reserve currency system that has come before it.”

Few today understand the difference between a free market economy and socialism for the rich larping as capitalism.

Pretty please Mr. President, may we raise the price of steel to reflect the change in demand? No? Oh well.

The USA is not socialist and to call it socialist shows an extreme lack of understanding.

USA is neo liberal imperialism.

Cuba, Vietnam, Burkina Faso are examples of socialism.

China operates under a "socialism by 2050" framework after a previous leader liberalised their economy.

Russia is a capitalist oligarchy, much like USA but less corrupt and more conservative in nature.

Americans are brainwashed from school and the mainstream media to think that "socialism is when the Gov does stuff"

But socialism actually refers to the workers owning the means of production themselves instead of an oligarchy/monarchy/dictator/corporations/etc

There are some examples of socialism in USA, like co ops and free markets.

But the state and the national economy are pretty much the opposite of socialism in USA.

Well said

It’s corporatism, “socialism“ for corporations and oligarchs.

It’s funny because Marx talked about how important a central bank is for communism. America checks the box there. He also talks about the abolition of private property. The great taking proved that everyone only has claims to assets. They don’t actually own any of their assets. America checks the box there as well. It’s not even close to being a free market lmao.
