A lot of zakat calculators are being posted these days. None of them have Bitcoin on their radar.

I recently had a short email conversation with an zakat organization in Germany. I asked them if they accept Bitcoin because I can't sell it beforehand and pay in fiat. Selling it would trigger a taxable event, the consequences of which I’d only see in my tax return next year, etc.

And their response? They told me to estimate the tax portion beforehand, deduct it, and then pay the rest. And I was like: What??

I wrote to them again, but no response since then.

Honestly, man, they all need to start accepting Sats—yesterday. Otherwise, this isn’t going anywhere.
