I just switched to stainless for eggs. Double ends because it frees up my skillet for steak.

What about avocado oil?

Don’t season cast iron with seed oils just use olive oil.

Still high

Much better than seed oils.

Lower the temp, cook longer.

In fact I use the lowest settings on a gas stove and a good 15 mins.

Some times cover with a steel lid.

Low temp typically prevents sticking

I also use olive oil occasionally…

Never wash iron with soap. I wash with water and a blue scotchbrite after. Never use green you will get sticking… dry immediately if there is oil/greasy residue back in the over at 320 for 45min it should season into the cast iron

While i agree to wash dry reheat wipe down with a bit of oil. Soap and scrubbies are fine. Lye is used for stripping so the ol myth relates to when lye was in soap decades ago

More rape oil

Dass rite brutha

#1 use tallow or bacon fat to season. If you want a detailed rant on how to season cast i can post

#2 heat you pan on low until the handle is almost to hot to handle. Then turn up the heat and add butter. Butter is my personal fav for eggs 👌

and your eggs don't stick?

i waited for pan to get hot, added butter, then eggs

Mine do not

A properly seasoned pan. Cleamed and stored right should create consistent results
