You could just install Linux on your Macbook.

Second that. I switched to linux from a Dell XPS 9560. Could be anything.

haha, I just don't want to stick with Apple device

I love thinkpads and dell computer. I currently have a PC that I will soon retire for one of those beauties

System 76 sells some with Linux on it, if not, buy a laptop you like and put Linux on it

If you are in EU probably one of the laptops from TUXEDO Computer (Germany).

If you want to install Qubes OS, probably the NovaCustom NV41 Serie from Netherlands that is Qubes certified.

If you are in the US probably one of the System76 laptops.

Hope it helps! 🤙

If it's an M-series Macbook - don't.

Use Asahi instead. It's not perfect, but incredibly good. If you need guidance and tips reach out to me

Otherwise you're in for a notable downgrade in hardware UX. All other hardware is inferior to Apple's

Depends largely on your use case and where in the world you are. What will you be using it for?

Just for my daily work

I would recommend getting a refurbished Lenovo thinkpad, Dell Latitude or HP Elite book. These "professional grade" laptops are usually the easiest when it comes to compatability with Linux and they're cheap compared to new laptops and easy to repair yourself. Perfectly capable of doing most work based tasks.

However if you're doing anything graphics intensive for your work you'll need something newer and more powerful.

Frame.work offers a great service based on the right to repair. Meaning you'll be able to upgrade your components over time, unlike with any other manufacturer

I like how Starlab notebooks look. I never owned one though.
