what's with the boot...?

Dayton is synonymous with Vancouver for several reasons. Sturdy logging boots since 1940s and for banned as footwear in many bars. "No Dayton's Allowed" signs were displayed at the entrance and bouncers would turn you away if you chose to wear the boot out to the local pub/saloon.
