Anyone good at chess?

I was very good a few years ago but let my game slip a bit. Such a good life game.

You learn to slow down & think before decisions. Also to predict & look ahead multiple moves where possible.

I played in the chess team in grade school but have not played in two decades. My guess is my current rank is ~500 lol

I’m diving back in. When I was playing a lot it really helped in other parts of life too.

Also, it’s contagious. My passion influenced my own kids, nieces & nephews to take a bigger interest.

e4, your move.

I feel like chess is probably as good as anything you could teach a child. You have any idea where you’d rank these days? My guess is a lot better than where I’m at

James Altucher got my chess interest flowing strong again years ago. I was up to high 1600’s at one point. Played & studied a lot.

He’s now a chess master & I’m not sure how I’d rank today.

Damn Sats!!!! Dude 1600’s is good as shit. I bet you’ll move back up pretty quickly if you’ve played at that level of skill in the past. You ever play bullet chess? One of my best friends is ranked up there as well and he raves about it

Never tried that. I don’t do the timed games. Those are a whole different level of skill.

A lot of memorization as well.

My game of chess has lacked a bit but my game of life is improving.

🤔🤯

Same here too. Chicken or the egg? Hmmmmmm

Don't get me wrong, I still love playing chess with my children but I am no where near competing level outside of my city.
