I agree. At some point we do have to trust.
At least a little. But for small things, I can see the above being more than valid—private keys, secret documents, your diary full of your deepest, darkest secrets. Sometimes windows do have eyes, and walls do have ears.
People say don't trust / verify. The truth is often we have totally rely in instincts and I tuition. And trust that alone. What does someone do when they have a broken car. Generally they have to pick a mechanic to help them based on how they feel about the person. They aren't going to wait to fix their car until they study how cars work for years. Sometimes we have to trust ourselves to Have inner knowing.
