I enjoy the context of price as a psychological anchor, because we are social creatures and nobody takes the ā€œfreeā€ couch on the side of the road, but anyone will pay $20 for a ā€œgood dealā€.

V4V at the early stages is a price discovery mechanism in some ways as we are attempting to discover worth in a new frontier.

Iā€™ve been of the mindset that ā€œif you build it they will comeā€ and contributing time and effort at V4V is a temporary approach until the infrastructure and customer base is solidified, and value has a better quantifiable direction. After all, a business needs margin to grow and scale and people need profit and incentive for continued motivation.

I like it but it could be delusional for some people. We cannot pretend that everything we built will ever get attention because of the market we are in.

If they do not come, you could just be in the wrong place or trying to giving away something that do not get attention.

So build something other people value as much as you.

Good point, but a point I didnā€™t elaborate on more is that while youā€™re building, you are also building your own skill stack. This may not pay off on the first attempt, but keep building and it will pay off when the timing meets the opportunity. šŸ¤™

Absolutely true. I just hope people will build following their heart and communities feedback in order to work in things that bring value to themself and others.

Everybody have hobbies which goal is to bring joy to themself doing something you like but you are maybe not so good at and then work which in opposite, its main goal is giving value to others doing something you probably don't like as much but you are particulary good at.

I'm just a afraid people misunderstood v4v and its proposition because they think that this is a way to live just off their "hobbies".
