Pushing an OS is tough work.

Have y’all considered submitting a Tollgate patch to OpenWRT standard routers?

We build separate packages for the TollGate services that run on the router. The OS is just a way for easy onboarding and a reliable first version because we then have a predictable OS state.

We want to get to a point where any existing OpenWRT install can just add the packages and see it work.

Based. Looking forward to this 💪💪

Lmk when it’s stable-ish enough for testing, which cheap routers are supported

Will do! Hoping to make a big push during #SovEng

We're first targeting the GL.Inet MT-3000 which costs around 80$ and try to add ones asap that are in the 40$ range!

You have your first pre-testnet tester ready

🤝

The "OS" is basically an OpenWRT image with the TollGate stuff pre-installed. Releasing a whole image will hopefully help reduce the number of unexpected edge cases that we need to face on day 1.

Feel free to join the TollGate deployment group if you want to be a brave early tester (aka. c03rad0r)
