In Amethyst you can create draft notes by simply not posting them.
These are all only available to you.

Same. I've come to realise that most of my notes are just me talking to myself publicly.
I often don't feel the need to publish but I also enjoy re-reading my notes.
I didn't like drafts at first but now I find them useful.
I think I enjoyed writing notes more before I had that realization myself. The drafts, and other little things, maintain some of that for me
