Absolutely. They were also sleeping in a sitting position mostly.

Weird. Imagine thinking that sleeping in a sitting position was more comfortable!
I don't think comfort was on their mind, more like they were afraid that bad things will happen at night if they lay down. Yes, I know how this sounds. 😅
Also, most were waking up in the middle of the night to do chores and stuff. They were also going to bed much more earlier than the average modern man.
