I disagree that capitalism is individualistic.

It requires the existence of multiple unrelated individuals that coordinate voluntarily and interact freely, so both are better off after the exchange.

A society of one living on his own, or where there is only one family or a group of closely related people not interacting with the outer world cannot be capitalistic.

In capitalism each individual is free to choose is the point

One family or one person living on their own is not a society

I am saying free will, a necessary component of capitalism, is something we all have and ultimately cant be taken, even under threat of force or coercion.

So in a society that is not based on capitalism, everyone still has a choice. Unless your they can take your ability to think and or decide for yourself, which some might argue has been the goal in many countries through controlling information, education, communication, speech and expression
