I've always wondered why everyone wants the rich to pay more. Tax is a percentage, so they generally pay more because they have more income. It's another matter that the rich generally pay less because they don't pay taxes, but that invalidates any increase.
Yeah I tend to think by the time you have such disparity the damage is already done.
What would be nice is if I could do my work and still afford basic shit like I could a few years back.

Unless I'm reading this wrong - the top 25% earners already pay over 80% of taxes while the bottom 50% only pay 3% of all fed taxes collected.

Trump v1.0 also raised taxes, by eliminating mortgage deductions, etc. Same untrustworthy behavior here.
