That's the same issues I had with people who complained about getting into Western comics! When the new stuff coming out was terrible there was still a decades old catalogue to choose from! Good stuff too, now organized in thick trade paperbacks.
People are always dramatic. They hate isekai because it's trendy to hate isekai; there are terrible isekai series that are impossible to watch but there are also good ones. People somehow act like bad series is a new thing
