I don’t deny that people can change, and I’m happy you have changed, and that bitcoin had a role to play in those changes.
But to believe that others will follow the same path as you doesn’t take into account all of the other people who have never held bitcoin, or won’t ever hold bitcoin.
It also doesn’t take into account the millions of people who will only ever hold a little. Are those people going to be happy to see that there are some extremely wealthy people who hold way more bitcoin than them? Does it make them any less envious, or jealous. Does it reduce their hatred for the “other”?
Now take this same line of thought and apply it to nations who hold bitcoin. Is Russia, China, or North Korea all of a sudden going to start promoting freedoms and a pluralistic liberal society, just because they hold a massive bag of bitcoin?
I’m an extremely positive and hopeful person. I believe in people more than anything, almost to a fault. But to believe that bitcoin will just unite people, because you’ve changed, does not take into account humans, or the human condition.
