Pro tip of the day #2; this time a positive one. If you’re gonna rip up an old deck, even if you’re just doing the one off your back door for yourself, get you one of these crescent Bull bars. Absolutely the best bar I’ve used to rip up a deck, and I can see it being exceedingly useful for pulling up a subfloor though I haven’t used it for that yet. It’s about $65 right now, which might seem like a lot for a single use, but can you ever really have too many pry bars? But seriously, this thing will save you so much effort and pain, from the adjustable head angle making it where when something lets go it doesn’t send everything (including you) flying, to the fact you don’t have to hammer it between the joist and the deckboard. It’s beautiful, really.
