Quick recap: Ripple paid Greenpeace to FUD BTC with a campaign against energy use and proof of work (change the code). Part of the campaign included an art piece that is a sculpture of a green “scary” proof of work Bitcoin skull. Bitcoiners appreciated the skill of the artist, relayed some inconvenient truths about the Greenpeace funding + Bitcoin’s positive impact…and memed it like crazy. It turns out the artist seems to be fairly good-faith open-minded about BTC.
