What in the world is that? Did you torch the poor mushroom? Lol

Definitely not mr

indigo milk cap.

Doesn’t seem to be so

Ok.

Looks like it’s been tarred and feathered

I know ! Super peculiar

Is it edible?

I would say no. However I have no idea honestly. I’m asking #nostr what kind it is!

I understand. I wasn’t sure if you knew maybe

Anything that dark in color isn’t edible, is the extent of my knowledge 👀😂

white spore = edible

Doesn’t look too enticing either (for eating I mean)

funny enough I think we’ve evolved to notice these things n should def go with our gut feeling

Totally agree 🎯

Just did some research and seems to be called "Shaggy inkcap"?

"This mushroom is unusual because it will turn black and dissolve itself in a matter of hours after being picked or depositing spores"

Whoah 🤯🤯🤯

“Shaggy Inkcap” IT IS! 👌🏻👏🏻

Don’t eat that

Coprinopsis picacea?

Nope it isn’t! But thanks for the help!

What do you think it is other than magpie ic?

The reason I commented was because a lot of people were suggesting that - IMHO incorrectly. The darkness of the cap, and the lightness of the stem and scales suggest magpie to me. It’s an important distinction to get right as the former is yummy and the latter is toxic. (Caveat: I’m not a mycologist but am an experienced forager. DYOR etc and don’t die)

Interesting. Could it be a hybrid ? I’ll never know now lol 😂 kinda has both similarities.

It is not Penis Envy

Definitely not.

Shaggy inkcap!

What is it use for? (genuinely curious)
