Don't believe in nostr!?, I mean nostr is super awesome independent if you don't want to do nothing with bitcoin fine it's up to you. The experience is far better and the potential applications is what makes even more. Yet I don't know why will someone stay on those platforms since it's only ego and more ego at this point.

People know this. Stats don't lie. I watch stats.nostr.band weekly. App developers also see their app usage drop off too. Everyone knows. Fixing it is the issue. Getting the the problem in front of more eyeballs is a good start.
Are the major clients in Japanese?
Maybe the UX is not there for the non-builders / early adapters.
They have their own clients, but many do use Damus.
How are you measuring "retention"?
Are users closing accounts?
I was trying out snort desktop and set up like 3 accounts trying to figure it out 😂 ended up not using any of them so perhaps those are included in your lost user stats?
Also, if I'm busy, I may not drop in for several weeks... Often I'll drop in for a few minutes while eating or taking a break and scroll/like/zap... Then exit cuz I have IRL stuff to tend to.
I feel this is a balanced way to use a social media app. Although if a lot of users are like ke me, it may not get NOSTR the numbers they're looking for soon. ✨🙏
We worry, but are we clear on our the definition of good retention? Newbies who make 4 npubs and stick with one of them are doing it better than newbies who make 1 and stick with it imo. We encourage people to carefully stick their nsec lots of places, but they will end up with a single favorite - which means the expected user behavior with 100% Nostr retention is for each place that’s watching to see new folks that leave. And that’s even in the case that 100% of real new users actually never leave.
