White or black socks for daily/casual wear? Does outfit matter?
I go with black low cut (barely visible over shoe, but a lil bit) no matter the outfit.
White is often unacceptable in formal settings, so wearing black all the time is the way I go.

True, though in those you generally want the long ones. I have some of those for such occasions but for everyday I like short socks.
I've been wearing almost exclusively mid high black socks since I was in high school marching band and got yelled at.
