Hanging around Lugano this morning and while it’s beautiful I’m pretty disappointed on the bitcoin front. I haven’t managed to spend a single sat. All the shops that say they accept it don’t have working machines or some other excuse. 🤷‍♂️

Was PlanB all marketing??

😬

I noticed that lot of things that people are shilling here on nostr are not real. Result of echo chamber.

Like what?

Like this one.

If i go in el salvador on how many merchants will i run i to and buy something with btc?

I don’t know, do you?

Me to, just asking.

This sucks

Too bad. There are positive surprises, even in Switzerland. Had my bike fixed at ciclo-sport.net and paid with #lightning. There is work to be done on the ground for sure…

Ugh, not super surprising but that’s disappointing as that was on my list to visit…maybe when I do it’ll be better 🤷🏼‍♂️

So none of the venues on this map accept Bitcoin? https://planb.lugano.ch/crypto-payments/

That's lame...

Common issue with merchant acceptance - it's not enough to simply set up a merchant. They have to remain committed to maintenance and employee training.

This is why Roger Ver style guerilla merchant marketing fails in the long run.

A full time marketeer needs to go door to door and explain how they can legally accept LN. Most of the merchants don’t understand that you need to register your transactions with a swap of cash. But then again you need supply and demand. Set up local groups of customers who are pushing merchants to accept LN. This is a fill time job, and who would cover those costs to make this happens.

Investing in software is one thing, but you need to push the use of it.

I know at least 33 merchants "actually" accepting LN payment in South Korea recently. Perhaps more than Lugano for real.

True ? Disappointing 🫣

i keep saying, we need our Constantine.

Your answer surprised me. Unfortunately I can't verify your answer and doubts because I don't know the country, but I hear something else on Twitter and YouTube.
