Just finished the second season of the Lord of the Rings show, highly recommend.
Sauron is called "the great deceiver". The word "deceive" means "to take". What does he take? The Truth. Then he replaces it with a lie, or deception.
Wisdom is the pursuit of truth, and is the antitheses of deceit.
What is truth? Etymologically the word "true" means sturdy, steadfast, trustworthy, solid, reliable. Integrity means to weave together (integrate) in order to reinforce or make something stronger.
A three cord strand is not easily broken. Through cooperation and competition truth is forged and tempered, it's ossified.
We are building the future upon truth, and it will break the power of deception.
