More what I had in mind was: rather than being brainwashed into thinking you need to buy some fashion company's expensive garbage for life in order to feel attractive, it's in an individuals power (most individuals; barring those with disabilities and other debilitating issues) to finesse their own body into something they are very likely to be happy with.

It's less about how you're being observed, and more about how you observe yourself.

Sure, this is another kind of "brainwash". But this just involves you and your own actions - and doesn't involve a vampiric consumerist corporation siphoning off your energy and money.

I completely agree. In fact, there's no better way to wash the brain than to get some exercise and fresh air.
