Well not defending Apple or anything but they can do whatever the fuck they want with their marketplace. If Elon doesn’t approve, maybe he should start one of his own.
Just living life on my android and not worrying about the Apple app store. The bummer is that Google is farming me for data. I hope we get a different phone OS at some point.
You have the intermediate option of a degoogled phone which runs android apps but limits how much google can farm.
So its apple he's mad about but not Microsoft? I feel like Microsoft deserves a tweet on its own. I want to use my own AI software but copilot comes preinstalled. Copilot also has a dedicated button in the default browser.
Image gen AI? Default bundled in Microsoft Paint.
How about coding then? VSCode ships you guessed it github copilot by default which is extremely limited on API options. KoboldCpp emulates Ollama so it can probably be used but I don't want to if I can use extentions like Roo Code which do support OpenAI API's properly.
If I as a default user want to go to grok I have already been exposed to copilot 2 to 4 times.
For us I don't think its to big of an issue, people use KoboldCpp because they want a local AI program that has a ton of features especially for fictional use. Copilot isn't suitable for our users. But if you are an AI provider this is extremely unfair competition.
So its good that he speaks out about apple, but he should name Microsoft in the same post.
