PoW is a shitcoin. The only place it's needed is onion relays.

I'm not sure if onion relay should be paid. The point of such a relay is to anonymously transmit valuable information to a wide range of people in the easiest way possible. The relay itself will most likely forward your event to 80 public relays in different countries and delete it so that the owner of the relay will not have problems with the authorities.

yeah, and now your whole account data set is getting leaked on a regular basis because your data is the product and they are collecting it to sell and then hackers sometimes steal it to give away to give the middle finger to the megacorps or to make money selling it on the dark web

most of the tor network is being run by spooks because nobody else would do it, and you are taking a huge risk using it because if they control enough points and gather the traffic timing data they know who, from where, is talking to who
it completely negates teh whole purpose to not have it be paid and incentives for relays to run
have you looked at the size of the network over the last 15 years?

I think everyone realizes that Tor is not the cornerstone of anonymity and only uses it as an additional stepping stone. It is very important that anyone can publish information for all #nostr for free, otherwise billionaires and Influencers will fuck up the whole space and you get feudal Twitter.
