If you have injured your back by lifting, falling etc.

Rest.

Lie on a firm bed in a comfortable position on your back or side.

Minimise movement.

Don’t do stretches, exercises or get physiotherapy.

Don’t take painkillers.

Don’t see a surgeon until you have done the above for at least 1 month with no improvement.

Pain is the bodies way of encouraging rest.

The body can heal itself but it can only do this when it is not moving.

Imagine a mechanic trying to repair your car engine while it is running !

Please note that your doctor will probably tell you to do the opposite of the above.

The above + I’ve lain on my back on a carpeted floor with my calves on a chair, basically an inverted sitting position. Concentrate as much as possible on relaxing the lower back and glutes. You won’t believe how fired they get trying to protect your spine.

Once you can begin exercising again - walk. After you can do more, start doing 10 minutes of core every day for the rest of your life.

For real. I had a hammock chair accident mid swing last May. I still hurt because I was stupid and didn't let it heal properly. Pretty sure I borked something up pretty good... thought it was better, kept having pain and going. Finally realized it wasn't the running or weight lifting.. it was the damn spinal twist in yoga. Have stopped that and have seen some improvement now in the last month. Hopefully it clears up. At least not bed ridden by 3 in the afternoon anymore 😃

What would you suggest for liver damage?
