Every time I watch doves clumsily land & make their awkward noises, I wonder if whoever decided them to be a symbol of peace & love ever actually watched a dove 😅

Actually a intresting topic the love aspect comes from greek mythology and them staying loyal during mating season and the peace thing comes from the bible with noah.

Funny how the dove has found meaning in multiple religions

It is fascinating. Knew about Noah, did not know about their Greek mythology. I'll have to read up on that.

This is what it sounds like when doves cry.

i need a burb feeder on my balcony next to my desk

Sure, but have you watched the human courtship process? 🙃

As far as I know, the Dove was chosen to represent the Sacred Feminine... to your point, I totally agree.

the "caww caww" they make as they fly always makes me smile... they seem to have just recently returned here in madeira

i watch the birds very closely... we have blackbirds, canaries, robins, pigeons, and this funny little bird with a long tail that bobs up and down that the locals call "washer woman" that makes this "tic tic tic" noise... and then there is this small brown eagle that i see flying around sometimes and their whistle is epic
