The fats you put on your skin will directly impact the lipid composition of your cells. 💡

Most fancy store bought lotions are seed/nut based. Their use will add linoleic acid and skew the body's lipid profile towards Omega 6 dominance. 💮

The health conscience are keen to use more natural fats, like animal fats, instead of conventional lotions. 🧘‍♂️

Emu Oil is a favorite in the health crowd, but did you stop to think of it's lipid profile? Emu oil is compromised of 15-25% Omega 6 PUFA, of which nearly all of it is linoleic acid! This is on par wirh canola oil. 🚩🚩🚩

Throw the monogastric fats from birds/pigs into the trash. Keep it saturated. Either tallow or coconut oil. 🐮🥥

Perhaps I need to look into ghee for physical application 🤔

A whipped blend of ghee, tallow, and honey with some essential oils, like rosemary, would be the absolute goat of skin balms.

Which essential oils would you include if up to you? Would they just be for scent or serve a health purpose?

Rosemary is ideal. Antioxidant. Resolves sunburns. Shown to recover damaged hair follicles when user on scalp. Banger w tallow. Smells fresh and vibrant. Just be sure to source organic or make your own (easy and fun).

Honey sourcing also vital. Lab tested for no herbicides. Never exposed to heat. nostr:nprofile1qqs27annlvyatx8tvvnje4lxc8gkzsp3eh7qsnzxpaw4fxlrxhw8vvqpp3mhxue69uhkyunz9e5k7qg4waehxw309ajkgetw9ehx7um5wghxcctwvsat7r62's co sells very good honey.

In your marketing, lean into the lipid profile as the advantage. I dont think I've ever seen a tallow/ghee whipped balm, which would mean your lipid profile would be the single best on the market.

I would make a comparison table with other healthy skin balms on the market.

Will keep this in mind. In the coming months I’m going to get the ghee tested with Eurofins to get full fatty acid profile, nutrient profile, heavy metals, and microplastics done 🫡

Will be the most transparent verifiable cooking fat on the market

Beautiful. Learning to source 3rd party testing is so vital these days. Everything is tainted. Lab tests build trust.

That would be great for massage therapists. I’ve been considering going all in on tallow based lotions.

Skin is more complex than it seems, and separating facts from marketing is not easy. This 2024 article from BBC is a good overview but a bit skimpy on details:
