Just remember Sweet that there are a few things you never want to stop cold turkey.

One is benzodiazepines (Valium, Xanax etc).

Another is Barbiturates. These drugs can definitely kill you cold turkey.

If you try this. You need to be under very close and attentive medical care. Very dangerous.

Going cold turkey with opioids or narcotics can make you wish you were dead.

But you can survive them with proper medical Care.

Many doctors tell people they can cold turkey antidepressants. But I know of many people who have had severe psychiatric breakdowns after doing so.

The kicker is that it may not hit you until a month or two later. Very sneaky.

Yeah then the cures to addict them to methadone permanently

I would think you could just wean off of methadone. But the way they dispense it probably makes that difficult to do.

You basically need to be able to do it yourself. You need to gradually decrease the dose. Then gradually increase the time between your next dose.

Eventually you get down to such a small dose over a long period of time that you no longer physically need it.

The catch is that you have to be able to make two steps forward and one step back as needed. After one dose you might be able to go several hours before your next dose.

On the other hand. You may need it a little sooner. But eventually the time will stretch out in the dose will decrease and you won't really need it anymore except in your head.

Weaning off of any addictive drug is both simple and complicated. You need a dependable supply and the determination to progressively use less and less. Until you're down to a dose your body doesn't need and won't miss..👍
