I'm mostly just shitposting. But if I were to actually defend that position, Threads is a huge corporation that could quickly become an existential threat to either protocol. ActivityPub is just a different, worse protocol.

Great article. I wonder if ActivityPub will end up being the sacrificial lamb that protects nostr. Maybe it's ok if ActivityPub gets extended/embraced/extinguished if nostr gets to sit at arm's length from Meta via bridges.

one is two opensource decentralized protocols interacting, the other is one of the largest and worst tech corporations in the world vacuuming up the interactions of people avoiding them, in order to increase its own surveillance capitalism capabilities.
