That may be easier for some to cut ties with loved ones thousands of miles away than for others.
My compromise is I have that messenger on an old separate tablet on a separate subnet over VPN with no profile.
One of my grannies can so things that devs on here cannot.
The other only knows what comes with her smartphone.

Understood. I finally got most moved to Signal by just not so often being on FB and thus communication lagged. :)
